It's a Boy
A few weeks ago I mentioned in passing that I was going to Central America, but I didn't say why. My wife and I are adopting a 5 month-old boy from Guatemala. We received word yesterday that everything is final. We are to present ourselves at the U.S. Embassy in Guatemala City Tuesday, March 7 to acquire for our boy an American passport and bring him home. I hope this explains the long pauses between my posts as of late. I hope to settle into a better routine -- or perhaps lose my mind completely -- once we're home again and administering to the daily needs of a three-year-old, a baby, and an incurable writing habit. Be well. Check in often.

Well, well... congrats!
There's probably a very good chance you'll lose your mind completely...at which point you'll have no choice but to settle into a better routine, if for no other reason than to insure making time for the incurable writing habit. All the best!
Congratulations! I hope you'll post a picture of your new son and even your whole family. I had 2 sons, too. Snips and snails :)
Mr. Felber gave us the good news a while ago. Congrats!
Tom,
Congratulations and best wishes for your new son.
I found your blog through a mention on Adam Felber's blog. It's cool to see what you're up to these days.
very best,
an old and very brief acquaintance from san francisco
p.s. "Exploded" is still one of the best spoken word pieces ever.
Thanks everybody. We made it home yesterday and our family is of a piece again. A big thanks to Adam Felber too for filling in at the last minute on Wait,Wait and for putting out the word on his most excellent blog, Fanatical Apathy. Check it out if you haven't. www.felbers.net/fa/
Congratulations, Tom! I'm thrilled for you guys, and wishing you the best with the (so I'm told) crazy adjustment from one child to two.
Congratulations on the newest Bodett. Life is about to become *really* interesting for you ;-)
Ooh, my goodness! I came over from Adam's blog--I am a big Wait Wait fan but have only recently discovered your little online club. BIG congratulations to you, and when you have time in your busy baby schedule I hope to hear you again on WW.
Huge congrats! How cool. Best wishes to all.
(And I too am glad I found your blog via Adam's.)
